Winter spelt

The traditional colb spelt has been a staple in our product line for 13 years now. Thanks to its excellent combination of high grain yields and good straw yields, ATTERGAUER DINKEL is the ideal variety for all organic spelt growing regions. In conventional cultivation, the use of a growth regulator should be planned for when higher yields are expected and crop development is good. In the Waldviertel and Mühlviertel growing regions, its excellent winter hardiness comes into its own when temperatures drop sufficiently. The harvest of ATTERGAUER DINKEL typically boasts significantly above-average hectoliter values—a factor of no small importance in marketing. Seed of this popular spelt variety will again be available in sufficient quantities for the 2026 fall planting season.
ATTERGAUER DINKEL is eligible for subsidies under the ÖPUL measure “Cultivation of Rare Crops” (SLK).
