TRICANTO

Winter triticale

The increasing production area of triticale also resulted in an increase of the crop’s sensibility to leaf and head diseases, in particular yellow rust and mildew. TRICANTO is most definitely one of the healthiest varieties on the market, and it is characterized by high yield potential and outstanding winter hardiness. Moreover, TRICANTO’s grain development is excellent, nearly unrivaled. The longer growth makes TRICANTO perfectly suitable for cultivation in the harsh regions of Waldviertel and Mühlviertel, and its high tolerance of yellow rust infection makes TRICANTO ideal for all organic production regions. When it comes to outgrowth resistance, TRICANTO reaches a similarly high level as its predecessor TRIMMER. According to investigations conducted by research institute Freising, TRICANTO is also very suitable for plant silage production, for example for biogas plants.
