NOVIRA

Multi-rowed winter barley - fodder barley

The new multi-rowed winter barley with medium-early ripening behavior is resistant to the aphid-borne Barley Yellow Dwarf Virus (BYDV). In terms of habitus, NOVIRA can easily be compared to the high-yielding CARIOCA. Apart from its very favorable yield performance (up to 8.5 t/ha in seed production during harvest 2022 in the Marchfeld region of Austria), NOVIRA also knows to convince with excellent leaf health (only minor infections of the main diseases mildew, net blotch and brown rust). Due to its BYDV-resistance, NOVIRA growers can make use of the full sowing period in fall.
