ATACAMA was registered into the Austrian variety register as the officially highest-yielding 00-variety. ATACAMA has a clear hilum and performs with very high stability (APS 3) and an appealing protein content. Of course, the name ATACAMA was not chosen at random: Like ANGELICA, ATACAMA shows excellent drought tolerance, a key factor in dry, hot summers like in 2017 and 2018. The only downside of this 00-variety is its sensibility of Metribuzin (Artist).
