Quality wheat (BQG appr. 7) - bearded wheat
MAURIZIO is a high-quality wheat variety that heads and matures extremely early, with very high yield potential and outstanding protein efficiency. For example, with the same yield potential, it matures approximately 6–7 days earlier than Bernstein. In addition, MAURIZIO is very lodging-resistant and impresses with above-average tolerance to yellow rust. This large-grained high-quality wheat combines medium-high protein levels with attractive gluten content and good hectoliter weights. MAURIZIO is now grown across large parts of Central, Eastern, and Southeastern Europe, all the way to Azerbaijan, to the complete satisfaction of drought-stricken farmers. Compared to CAPO or MIDAS, however, this plant density type should be sown at a seeding rate that is 10–15% higher.
