Winter pea
As with many cereal crops, the trend for grain peas has now shifted from summer varieties to winter varieties, which offer more stable yields. The highly stable, white-flowering climbing variety FURIOUS not only offers balanced agronomic traits and extremely impressive yields but has also demonstrated above-average frost tolerance in recent years in locations prone to winterkill (e.g., winter 2025/26). Its excellent lodging resistance is a highly positive trait that contributes to yield reliability. The recommended seeding rate ranges from 100 seeds per square meter on good, deep soils to 120 seeds per square meter on poorer-quality soils. In organic farming, winter pea crops serve as ideal preceding crops for organic high-quality wheat production. The optimal planting time for winter peas is slightly earlier than for wheat, usually in the first ten days of October. Sufficient quantities of FURIOUS seed should be available again this year.
