RAPACE

Winter triticale

This new variety is currently the highest-yielding (APS 9) triticale variety registered in Austria—a product for specialists who want to maximize the site’s potential down to the very last kilogram. With appropriate crop management—including targeted use of growth regulators and an adapted fungicide strategy—five-digit yields should be achievable in favorable triticale growing conditions. Like the main variety SU LAURENTIUS, RAPACE matures in the mid-early range. Of particular note, of course, is its good tolerance to snow mold, powdery mildew, yellow rust, and Fusarium infections. Consequently, the fungicide strategy for RAPACE can be focused on potential brown rust infections. The grain formation of this nitrogen-efficient new variety is also excellent (APS 5 per hectoliter). Sufficient seed of RAPACE will be available for the upcoming fall planting season for the first time.
