SUMATRA

Oil sunflower

The herbicide tolerant SUMATRA performs with significantly earlier maturity when compared to almost all other listed sunflower varieties. Regarding ripening behavior, SUMATRA can be compared to ES Columbella, but SUMATRA can be treated with products containing Tribenuron-Methyle (e.g. Express SX, etc.) during post-emergence crop protection. Furthermore, SUMATRA also shines with high oil content and is especially suitable for cultivation in less favorable sunflower production areas (Waldviertel, Upper Austria, etc.). In more favorable regions, the later maturing varieties SY BACARDI and TUTTI are certainly able to reach higher yield levels.

This sunflower hybrid is resistant to the herbicidal active agent Tribunerion-methyl within the group of Sulfonylurea. The application of other agents is not recommended and is at the user’s risk.
