EGON

Spring oat

EGON was enlisted into the Austrian variety register as a high quality spring oat variety in 2018. The very early maturing variety has high stability and very high nitrogen efficiency. EGON convinces with a combination and balanced development of the quality parameters hectoliter weight, fat content and crude fiber content. When it comes to protein content, no other variety can get even close to EGON, and furthermore, it has decent mildew tolerance and – like most other varieties in comparison – higher crown rust sensibility. During its trial phase, EGON showed very positive yield performance in all testing regions. Its high stability make EGON the perfect fit for the more intensive oat regions in Upper Austria and Styria.
